Positive: Albert the owner and everyone he works with are so kind, and make adventuring on Lamu Island so simple. He provides a map and reviews of restaurants, provides advice, and schedules activities. My bed was comfortable and my room, while basic, was exactly as expected from photos and provided exactly what was needed for a budget stay on Lamu.

Negative: Don't be deterred by cold showers- they feel excellent after exploring Lamu!

Positive: Staying at JamboHouse completely shaped our Lamu trip in the best way! It was neat staying in old town, and Arnold gave us extremely thoughtful recommendations for restaurants and activities. The fresh breakfast was a great start to the day as well. We ended up doing several of the activities Arnold arranged. Incredible value for what you pay. If considering a stay in Lamu Old Town, remember it's a UNESCO world heritage site with homes as old as the 16th century, so infrastructure thus can be lacking in a modern sense - and that's actually part of the charm in our opinion. We were 5-10 minute walk from the best (and at the same time most affordable) restaurants on the island. Staying here affords vibrant culture, a charming local vibe (we had so many conversations in the street), and good connection to Lamu.

Negative: Between the heat and the noise from outside, it was a bit hard to sleep. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

Summary: A truly special way to see Lamu!

Positive: Arnold is a great host, he loves what he does and made our stay perfect. The house is in Lamu Town, some minutes walking from the ferry and perfect for a visit of the village. We've been picked at the airport and guided to the house, which was great. Arnold provides all the information you might need - what to visit and good places to eat. He organised a tour to the Takwa Ruins for a fair price, which we enjoyed a lot. Breakfast is amazing, with options varying from different egg dishes to (banana) pancakes and fried vegetables. There's always a fresh juice, fruits, a hot drink and toast and it's served on the terrace, where we also spent some hours in the afternoon/evening. The rooms are clean and equipped with fans, we had everything we needed.

Summary: Perfect stay in Lamu - 100% recommended!

Positive: Amazing place with the host and owner Arnold who is very kind and always willing to help and gives very good advice about local places worth visiting. The breakfast is very good and diverse, with daily fresh fruit from the market. The house is very clean with comfortable beds and also backpacker friendly. Highly recommend the deep tissue massage, the lady comes to your room and is very much worth it. All in all a place to come back any time!

Positive: Perfect accommodation. Arnold really takes time to welcome you with free welcome drinks and a introduction into the city of Lamu. He gives you a map with recommendations for restaurants and activities. Room was good and the private bathroom was even better. Amazing rooftop terrace and amazing breakfast. Highly recommended staying here (Lamu is better than Shela anyway)
